*Free and Reduced Price Meals

Students must have an approved 16-17 Application for Education Benefits on file to receive free or reduced meal benefits. A new application must be completed each school year by Oct 1st for continuation of meal benefits from one year to the next. 

Meal benefits are available to students whose families meet certain requirements such as:  families might have either one or more children who receive MFIP, SNAP or FDPIR benefits, have a foster child or have a household income within certain guidelines. Free or reduced price meal benefit information is private data and is kept confidential.   Free and reduced price meal applications and forms  are available for downloading, or apply ONLINE through our Infinite Campus Parent.

**A reimbursable meals contains at least 3 of the 5 meal components offered, one of the items must be at least 1/2 cup of a fruit or a vegetable.

A La Carte Prices 2016-2017 (pdf, 127 KB)

A listing of typical foods students can purchase ala carte by grade level.  Hopkins Public Schools evaluated ala carte foods & beverages selections against the nutrition standards (listed in the attachment) as developed and recommended by the School Nutrition Association, Institute of Medicine and Alliance for a Healthier Generations. We believe that foods and beverages sold/served outside reimbursable student nutrition programs should complement, rather than compete with reimbursable meals. Our goal is to offer foods and beverages at school that will contribute to teaching students lifelong healthy eating habits.
