Hopkins Public Schools is a member of The
West Metro Education Program (WMEP), a
voluntary consortium of 11 urban and suburban school districts in the
Minneapolis metropolitan area that was formed in 1989 to cooperatively
address integration issues in the west metro area. WMEP has two schools
that Hopkins students may attend, the Fine Arts Interdisciplinary Resource (FAIR) - Downtown and the Fine Arts Interdisciplinary Resource (FAIR) School - Crystal.
Fine Arts Interdisciplinary Resource (FAIR) School - Downtown
The underlying emphases of the school are multicultural learning, experiential learning, and technology as learning resources. The school reaches to the downtown community as a source of external labs, working with learning partners in the arts, government, business and other public and private sectors.
The school is committed to providing all the tools necessary to
ensure that students achieve maximum academic, creative, and social
potential. The focus is on confirming best practices for a culturally
and economically diverse population.
Fine Arts Interdisciplinary Resource (FAIR) School - Crystal
The Fine Arts Interdisciplinary Resource (FAIR) School - Crystal is a magnet school for students in grades 4-8. FAIR School is one of two schools created by the West Metro Education Program (WMEP) to provide intercultural learning opportunities for students from Minneapolis and surrounding suburban school districts.
The learning opportunities at FAIR School focus on three major areas:
- Intercultural learning
- Fine arts performance
