Hopkins Public Schools is strengthening its high-quality secondary program.

West Junior High Friday Videos are the weekly videos featuring our students and staff engaged in activities that are meaningful, amusing, and moving. We invite you to enjoy the famed Friday Videos, an important part of Hopkins West's culture of creativity.

Is it art? This age-old question was considered by students in the eighth-grade elective, Twentieth Century Art. Studying the work of British graffiti artist, Banksy, the students explored the relationship between street art, and work that one might see in a gallery or museum.

 

 

Armed with good will and hard work, nearly 1000 members of the Hopkins West Junior High community volunteered approximately 2500 hours to at least 19 non-profit organizations on October 21, 22, and 23. The three-day event brought students, teachers, and parents together in an effort to give back to the community.

Terry Wolfson has been the principal at West Junior High for 25 years. She is retiring from the Hopkins School District to take a position as principal at the American International School in Cyprus.  You have the opportunity to submit a message to Terry which will be compiled into a keepsake for her.

An Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) celebration dinner welcomed new participants and celebrated this year's first graduating class.

A team of 28 WJH 7th through 9th grade students earned first place in Minnesota and third internationally in the  Knowledge Master Open this spring.

Six players from the national award-winning Hopkins West Junior High Knowledge Master team finished fifth in the invitation-only Junior National Academic Competition in Washington, D.C.
