Please join the Hopkins School Board for a community forum about a potential change to our grade alignment
The Hopkins School Board is exploring a decision to shift to a middle school model, changing the grade configuration of Hopkins Public Schools. If approved, the elementary level would serve students in grades K-5, the junior highs would serve students in grades 6-8, and the high school would serve students in grades 9-12. We held a community forum on Feb. 6th and received a strong turnout. If you were unable to make it, please consider attending the second forum, which will be held on Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Hopkins High School. The board would like to hear all voices, opinions and input as they make this decision. You can find more information here: https://www.hopkinsschools.org/district-news/news/grade-alignment-2017
If you are unable to attend this meeting, but would like to learn more about this issue, we will be filming the presentation and making it available on our website. You can also share your perspective through the School Board’s “Contact the Board” forum: https://www.hopkinsschools.org/about-us/school-board/communicating-board/contact-board
Jump Rope for Heart – February 15, 16 & 17
Next week your child will be jumping for healthy hearts! On either February 15, 16 or 17 (depending on their second physical education day) each class will be jumping the entire 30 minutes. The students may bring water bottles and rest when needed as they jump. They surprise themselves with how many jumps they accomplish during this time. Also, there is still time to return the donation envelopes. Thank you for all of your support.
